1987 Cadillac Sedan DeVille
Lifespan: 3/1998 - 6/1998
This was another car in the line of bad98. But one day my brother came to me
and said "You've got to see this car". I walked outside, and there
was this black Cadillac. It had the same rims I had on my Buick, and it
looked REAL sharp. It already had a CD-player and system
installed. I said "schweet!", and bought it. After the last episode,
I got full coverage insurance. Well, since the car already had the rims
and CD player, all I had to do was to add window tint (37% around, except
windshield) and a sunroof, which I promptly did. This car was AWESOME. It
had black leather interior, power EVERYTHING (including dash), and an alarm
with remote start. It was really the ultimate in luxury cruising. I mean,
it was a Cadillac! I drove this on some pretty famous crusades in
it's short lifespan with some friends. Memories... Anyway... In May,
the transmission went out, and I had to shell out $1500 to get it repaired.
I wasn't happy, and it took a week! As it was, it was the SAME week I took
off for my vacation. Go figure! Well, I got it back, and it worked. Well,
one day I was coming home after buying some parts for it (decor, not engine),
and some freak straight ran a light and WHAM, there went the Cadi.
Well, I was fully-insured, and so was he... right? Wrong. After a long
dispute, his insurance company denied the claim. Then, my insurance company
turns around and bends me over and screws me!!! I was assured that I'd get
maximum value for it. It was the Gold edition and had every option. Well,
I didn't even get half of blue book for it. What a pain in the ass. So,
that was car #2 I ate for that year... Up to this point, I had been fairly
lucky to be able to walk away without major problems... I decided that
my next car was to be a tank. And so it was...
