1985 Buick Park Avenue
Lifespan: ~1/1996 - ~1/1998
For two years I lived in this car. It was a choice between a really nice
Cadillac and this. However, I was convinced by powerful forces (parents)
that I should get this. Well, I got it. It had the GM 3100 V6 in it, and
it ran great. I drove this car everywhere, including, but not limited to:
Windsor (Canada), Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinatti, and Daytona Beach
FL. In the course of history I've added: Blaupunk CD-Player, Jensen Amps,
15" RF Classics (later replaced with 15" MTX Super2000s), Optimus rear speakers,
20% Window Tint (Side windows only), blue neon underlighting, Cragar Tri-Star
rims, Cooper Trendsetter (60-series) tires, Chrome vent-shade rain deflectors,
a sun-roof (installed in Daytona Beach, FL) with a wind-deflector, and
a Viper car alarm. Yeah!
For two years, this car was my personal transport. And everywhere I went,
it was recognized. In any case, in 1/97 I added two ICP (a rap group from
Detroit) stickers to the car, one on the hood, and another on the rear window.
It was marked from then on. The car was clearly unique! Well, in late
1997 I started having problems, and was on the road to replacing every little
thing on it. Well, I was attending the University of Toledo at the time,
and I needed a reliable car (for UT wasn't a hop, skip, or jump away
from where I lived). Eventually, I sold the car to a friend, and he got
roughly another year out of it.
